About Us
We are a VEX Robotics Competition team located at Marsteller Middle School. Our Team number is Team 14V. You can find us at many of the competitions in the Northern Virginia Area. Our team consists of 7 members of the Marsteller Middle School Robotics Club. Our team has members that are in both 7th and 8th grade. All of the members on Team 14V are highly qualified and work very well together. We strive to perform excellence in every task we complete using Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The design of our robot is different from the rest. Our chassis has an angle in it to allow for easy maneuvering over the bump and all around the field. Our robot has a single reduction gearing system for our six bar linkage lift. The lift has two intake rollers that come down when moving, by using elastic tubing. The intake system is at an angle to allow for easy moving of the bucky balls. We have recently added a pneumatic air system. Compressed air powers a piston to move back and forth. An arm is attached to the piston, it is used to pick up and move the large balls.
